OUTBOARD SIDEMOUNT CYLINDER KITS
OUTBOARD SIDEMOUNT CYLINDER KITS provide a superior method for steering large outboard engines. We manufacture a solid stainless steel side mount pin which replaces the hollow engine tilt tube. This bar provides a secure mount for our stainless sterndrive cylinder. The clevis joint on the piston rod attaches to a rear plate (sold separately) on the back of the engine. One cylinder is used on single engines and two cylinders on multiple installations. Single engines with RH rotation mount the ram on the starboard side of the engine. All part numbers are for one cylinder and mount assembly.

OUTBOARD FRONTMOUNT CYLINDER KITS
OUTBOARD FRONTMOUNT CYLINDER KITS provide an excellent alternative to the side mount configuration as rear plates do not need to be attached to the motor. The compact yet rugged design allows maximum turning angles and full independent trimming of multiple motor installations. All hardware is made from polished 316 stainless steel. Outboard Mounting Plates
 
MANY OUTBOARD APPLICATIONS REQUIRE ATTACHING POINTS for steering and tie bars that are not provided on the stock engines. LATHAM MARINE INC. manufacturers a wide variety of plates from 316 stainless steel to fit most large outboards. Performance boats should use rear plates to attach SIDEMOUNT STEERING RAMS and tie bars because this eliminates the play caused by steering through the tiller arm and engine mounts. Engine powerheads never need to be removed to install LATHAM outboard plates, but cowlings will sometimes have to be modified.
 
 
MERCURY® 200 PLATE SYSTEM*
MERCURY® 200 PLATE SYSTEM* provides a secure rear mounting plate without the need for powerhead removal or extensive machine work. The support plate kit is used in conjunction with a rear wing plate for steering, or with a rear tie bar plate for tie bars only. Lower cowling must be trimmed. Engine fasteners included.

MERCURY HIGH PERFORMANCE® 2.5 REAR PLATES attach with four studs and lock nuts at the rear of the powerhead (Stud kit sold separately). Cowl modifications are not necessary with high performance lift-off cowls. Please note these plates require the high performance exhaust adapters to attach to the engine. Stock engines with high performance exhaust adapters should use these rear plates.

OMC/BRP® REAR PLATE KITS
OMC/BRP® REAR PLATE KITS are designed to fit Johnson® and Evinrude® V-6 and V-8 outboards. The plate kits for the V-8 fit only the old OMC V-8 motors, while the V-6 plate kits fit the new V-6 motors, now manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products® (BRP). Studs and lock nuts* to attach plates to engines are included. Cowlings must be trimmed.

Outboard Tie Bars Assemblies
 
 
ALL MULTIPLE OUTBOARD INSTALLATIONS
ALL MULTIPLE OUTBOARD INSTALLATIONS require one or more tie bars to keep the motors parallel and equalize loading. Boats running 65 mph or more with multiple outboards should use an external tie bar assembly; either with the LATHAM side mount cylinders and wrap plates or with the LATHAM front mount cylinders. The front mount cylinder and tie bar system will allow the driver greater latitude for independent trimming and tilting without damage to tie bar or motor components. LATHAM MARINE INC. TIE BARS are constructed from 316 stainless steel and satin finished for maximum corrosion resistance. Solid bars are used up to 36" long. And tubular construction is utilized for longer bars.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMPS
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMPS are required to provide outboard steering systems with full power as power steering pumps are not supplied with outboard motors. The LATHAM ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP KIT is designed with the pump, reservoir tank, accumulator and pressure filter integrated into a single unit. This allows for an easy installation and with the appropriate helm, hose and fittings, self-contained systems can be converted without major system modifications. This system uses the same motor mounted cylinders and attaching hardware.

OUTBOARD FULL POWER HELMS
OUTBOARD FULL POWER HELMS are specifically matched with the LATHAM ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP KIT and are available in sizes ranging from 2 to 7 cubic inches per revolution. Like the sterndrive helms, these units are also supplied with integral shock and pressure relief valves to protect the system from overpressure and pressure spikes. THESE HELMS CANNOT BE INTERCHANGED WITH THE STERNDRIVE FULL POWER HELMS. These helms can use the standard stainless steel columns but require a special helm fittings kit which is listed below.

TRIM WHEELS BY LATHAM put the world of performance steering technology at your fingertips! Now you don't have to remove your hand from the wheel to operate the power trim. Three water resistance switches operate your power trim pumps, bringing your drives up and down together, while your stock trim panel operates the drives independently. Sealed dash housing eliminates dangling cords and wires. TRIM WHEELS are now available for LATHAM full hydraulic systems and most other hydraulic and cable systems. Autopilot Valves
 
LATHAM MARINE'S AUTOPILOT VALVES will keep your fine motorcraft on course with the same precision and reliability as your LATHAM primary steering system. Our hydraulic Autopilot Valves interface with most popular electronic autopilots and are exclusively designed to operate with LATHAM FULL POWER STEERING SYSTEMS. We designed these valves from the ground up with all the necessary features, so there are no bulky extra blocks to add on. Simply connect your hydraulic hoses and autopilot electrical signal lines, and you will be cruising in style !
 
 
AUTOPILOT VALVES
AUTOPILOT VALVES are available for both sterndrive and outboard full power steering systems. These valves offer smooth responsiveness, with autopilot speed adjustment. The steering rams are locked when the autopilot valve is idle. They are equipped with a protective anodized billet aluminum body and are available in 12 or 24 VDC.
